The civil rights act of 1968 was put into effect to end discrimination in the housing market, it is also known as the Fair Housing Act. The major party involved was President Johnson since he was the one who signed it into law. The law was signed in Washington DC and then impacted the entire country. One major cause of this was the civil rights movement, the law was signed around the time of the MLK assassination, and one major effect was the further movement of the civil rights movement.
