Between 1279 and 1468, the Yuan dynasty took place and was basically an occupation of China. It was basically the same thing as previous dynasties, except with the ruling style. Another difference was the importance of trade. As they were “owned” by the Mongols, the amount of trade that took place was way higher and was over a longer distance. The Yuan dynasty fell because of a power struggle, as well as economic issues. They did not back up paper money with any valuables, so the value of it fluctuates so much that the economy all out failed. (3.2, 3.3)
