Descripción:

The Gang of Four was a leftist political faction in the CCP that gained power during the Cultural Revolution. Notably, Mao Zedong's last wife, Jiang Qing, was the leading figure. After Mao's death in 1976, a power struggle began between the Gang of Four and the right-wing alliance led by Deng Xiaoping, and the Gang of Four was officially blamed for the conflict during the Cultural Revolution, and their fall from power was celebrated by most Chinese. The Gang of Four was put on trial in 1980 and each member served long terms in prison, although Jiang Qing committed suicide after an early release.
