1368 CE - 1644 CE The Ming Dynasty was founded by Hongwu directly after the collapse of the Yuan Dynasty led by the Mongols. This dynasty boasted a standing army of over one million troops and the largest naval shipyards in the world. Travel and exploration were incredibly huge during this time, as Zheng He traveled much of the Indian Ocean basin establishing Chinese superiority in the lands he visited. (3.2)
