Legalism is a chinese philosophy that believes human nature is innately evil and needs restraint and a better government is one that rules by force.

Legalism was important because it was the official philosophy of China during the Qin Dynasty. Additionally, bringing Legalism into everyday life brought order and force during a very hectic state in Chinese History.
