23 dic 1919 año - Amendment to the Indian Act
Descripción:
In 1920, responded to reports of indigenous children not attending school or running away from school by attaining amendments to the Indian Act. This act made it mandatory for all children to attend school until the age of 15. The act also enabled Indian agents to search homes and call police to arrest parents who had not or refused to send their children to school . This resulted in children being "rounded up" and being forcibly taken from their homes and to residential schools. (Racette, 2009, p. 57).
