It lasted from June 14, 1789 to July 9, 1789. It was a revolutionary assembly formed by the representatives of the third estate of the estates general. It was replaced by the Legislative Assembly on September 30, 1791. It functions included the making of laws , the controlling of the finances of the state and also a critical role to check the action of government and ministries.
