5 mar 1770 año - The Boston Massacre

Descripción:

March 5, 1770, was the day that the tension between the British and the colonists erupted. It began when a British soldier got into a fight with one of the colonists. Although the fight began with just a few snowballs and insults, it quickly grew louder and soon soldiers had fired into the crowd. Several colonists were killed and the soldiers, along with their officer, Thomas Preston had been charged with murder. The soldiers pleaded not guilty in saying that they “had acted in self-defense.” The Boston jury agreed and the trial helped calm people down but many were still angry at the British.
