He then spends his life wreaking vengeance on C and the next generation. There is sth elemental and primitive about their love, which seems to be the extention of the wild moorland. The violent world of Wuthering Heights is contrasted with the tame world of the Lintons' Thrushcross Grange
The novel is a technical tour de force with the interlocking narratives (Nellie, the down to earth housekeeper relates the story to Lockwood, a visitor who symbolizes the civilised world, giving continuity and credibility to their tale while creating a distance from these wild events) and complex time-scheme, since the novel begins with the most recent events and then goes backwards
