In 1954, the Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company produces methylphenidate (Ritalin) to treat people with chronic fatigue, lethargy, disturbed senile behavior, and psychosis associated with depression and narcolepsy. However, its uses in treating children with symptoms of ADHD proves to be the most effective.
