8 jun 1778 año - Cahokia Peace

Descripción:

Although this wasn't a battle it still had an effect on the Revolutionary War. Lieutenant Governor Henry Hamilton had gotten some Native American tribes to fight for Britain, and those tribes caused some trouble for George Rogers Clark. Clark held a council for the local Native American tribes were he tried to make peace with them. He was successful, without the help of the tribes Hamilton's resources diminished. Many of the tribes had taken the white belt of peace rather than the red belt of war, although some decided to keep their alliances with Britain.
This was in the Summer of 1778 in Cahokia, IL.
