The delegates made significant changes in France’s government and society to create a new constitution. This new constitution created a limited constitutional monarchy. It stripped the king of much of his authority and created a new legislative body called the Legislative Assembly. Despite the new government, old problems remained. To fix these problems, the Legislative Assembly was split into three general groups, Radicals, Conservatives and Moderates.
