This year, Congress passed the Civilization Act that would subsume Native Americans. This law provided funds coming from the government that would go towards education for Natives to act as a catalyst for the “civilization process.”
Causes: Settlers would begin attempting to civilize the Native people of the lands they were set forth to settle on.
HI:Because the act was passed in order to assimilate the Native Americans into the Christian ways, it successfully was able to structure the Native people
