Veterans killed and injured by Soldiers for demanding their War Benefits right before the Great Depression. President Hoover and Attorney General William D. Mitchell tried to get the Veterans off government land. It eventually scaled to the point where six tanks, five hundred infantry, five hundred cavalry and 800 policemen were called. In the fighting, two veterans died, and 1,017 veterans were injured. Both of the Veterans that were killed, fought in WW1, one of them fought in the Trenches of France.

This shows how the government at the time had little to no responsibility for the Veterans from WW1. Especially with economic and social unrest at the time.
