- Baghdad was known as the greatest city in the world
- The sack of Baghdad marked the end of the Islamic golden age
- Hulagu, the leader that led the Mongols to attack Baghdad, had mercy on the Nestorian Christian community and did not kill none of them
- This is because his wife and mother were both Nestorian Christians
