Tracy was born with cerebral palsy, due to a shortage in her oxygen supply. During her life, Tracy had to do multiple surgeries, including surgery to lengthen tendons and release muscles, and surgery to correct scoliosis in which rods were inserted into her back. Tracy was described to always be in constant pain.
