The kingdom of Israel is split into two parts after Solomon’s death, around 900 B.C. Solomon had two sons Rehoboam and Menelik I. Solomon’s older son Rehoboam was in the place to get the throne. Rehoboam ruled Israel when his father died. Rehoboam's hier, Jeroboam, ruled the south kingdom known as the Judah.
