The Great Depression was one of the most catastrophic times in American history. Following the stock market crash of 1929, the economy plummeted, and millions of people found themselves jobless and even homeless. At its height, more than 15 million Americans were unemployed. Around 1933, the economy showed signs of improvement with the establishment of the New Deal, however the effects of the depression were prevalent throughout the 30’s.Añadido al timeline:
