The slaves were kidnapped from their homelands in West Africa and were forcibly brought (in horrible ship conditions) to Virginia. They were brought to Jamestown, Virginia to help cultivate tobacco more efficiently. Their arrival was the start of the vicious slave trade industry in America. The slave trade industry continued to grow in years to come, eventually becoming the backbone of the U.S. economy and the cause of the Civil War.Añadido al timeline:
