On July 17, a conference was held in the city of Kufa to hold a truce between the rebels in the area of Al-Shamiya, Najaf and English. The conference was attended by English Major Major Torbury, the Governor of Shamia and Najaf [33] . The rebels, in addition to tribal chiefs in the region, included Sheikh Abdul-Karim al-Jazairi and Jawad al-Jawahiri, who were representatives of Sheikh Fathallah al-Asfahani . The two sides were finally agreed on a four-day truce starting from the first day of Dhul-Qa'dah (1338 Hijri) For July 17, where the garrison of Abu Sakhir withdraws to Kufa without causing harm to it.
