Descripción:

«Section 1: Whenever a case of smallpox, cholera, scarlatina, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles, mumps, glanders, or other contagious disease, exists in any house or household belonging to which are persons attending school, the householder shall, within eighteen hours of the time such disease is known to exist, notify the head teacher of such school or schools, and also the secretary of the Local Board of Health, of the existence of such disease; and no member of such household shall attend school until a certificate has been obtained from the Medical Health Officer, or, legally qualified medical practitioner that infection no longer exists in the house, and that the sick person, house, clothing and other effects have been disinfected to his satisfaction; and until such certificate shall have been obtained, it shall be the duty of every member of the household, and of the teacher, to use all reasonable efforts to prevent the association of members of the said household with other children» (p. 164).
