29 oct 1929 año - Stock Market Crash of 1929

Descripción:

The Stock Market Crash of 1929 is what what really kick-started the decade long time period of starvation and poverty we now know as the Great Depression. The exact date this occured is difficult to determine because the economy didn’t fall overnight. The crash itself had been developing since the early 1920’s, with many Americans becoming careless with their money as the financial industry grew larger and larger. But in October of 1929, stock prices began declining significantly.

On October 29th, (Black Tuesday) things took a major turn for the worst when the stock market collapsed completely. America lost billions of dollars as it began plundering into the Great Depression and by 1933, about 15 million people (30% of the American workforce) were unemployed. But when Franklin D. Roosevelt took office that same year, the American began gradually building up again. Despite this, it wasn’t until 1939 that the Great Depression finally ended.
