After the constant boycotting of the acts imposed on colonist, the British Parliament passed the Declaratory Act, asserting the parliament's authority to make laws binding the colonists, including the right to tax. the parliament also enforced the Stamp Act to affirm that they still had control. It also states that no representation is needed because they are under virtual representation. Virtual representation members of Parliament represented all British citizens
