An 11-year-old Barry Allen is awoken in the middle of the night. He goes downstairs to see what is making all the noise he's hearing. What he sees is enough to fuel his nightmares for the rest of his life - his mother being murdered by a man in a yellow suit. In the blink of an eye, he appears in the middle of the street 12 blocks from his house. He runs all the way back and when he arrives he sees his father being put into a police car by his best friend's(Iris West's) father, Joe. His father (Henry Allen) is (wrongfully) convicted for her murder and spends the next 18 years in Iron Heights State Penitentary.
