1 ene 1626 año - Dutch Raid and Plunder Brazil
Descripción:
Admiral Piet Hein (1577-1629), a Vice Admiral of the Dutch West India Company, launches a raid against Brazil. In 1628 he attacks the Spanish main with 36 privateers and 3300 men to wait for the Spanish Treasure Fleet. However, the Spanish received warning, but were still forced to surrender. Hein returned as a national hero in January 1629 with 500 million, possibly the largest plunder ever made. The Triumphal Song of the Silver Fleet was written for him, almost like a national anthem.
