Britain passed a series of laws to punish Boston for the tea party. 1. Closed Boston port until destroyed tea was paid for. 2. Town meetings in Massachusetts were banned. 3. British officials accused of crimes would be tried in England instead of Massachusetts. 4. A new Quartering Act was passed to house troops in Massachusetts. Other colonies came together to help MA because they believed they could be punished too. Colonists called for a meeting to take place between all 13 colonies.
