15 jun 1767 año - The Townshend Acts
Descripción:
Feeling like they had the right to tax the colonists, parliament issued a series of taxes known as The Townshend Acts. Money helped pay for British troops in the colonies. Imported goods like paint, glass, lead, and tea were taxed. None of these items were made within the colonists. Colonists reacted by boycotting the items that were being taxed. This hurt the businesses who were trying to sell these items. Eventually the taxes on goods were repealed on all items except for tea.
