Air raid occurred while Pratt was busy nursing,
When bomb exploded next to the tent, Shrapnel from the bomb burst through the tent and struck her in the back and neck and cut into her lungs. Although Pratt was injured after attack finish she carried on caring for soldiers until her injuries caught up with her and she collapsed.
