Like the Akhenaten and his Amarna period in Egypt, Sargon wanted to build his own city and be remembered for it. However, like Amarna, the city would be abandoned after his death and his successor would move the capital elsewhere. In his final years, Sargon didn't even bother to rule from his half-built capital, opting instead to rule from Babylon (Mark, “Nineveh”).Añadido al timeline:
