Descripción:

After Mohammad assassination Ali and a group called Umayyad came into power and chase Mu'awiya as the fifth caliph. He ruled when Muslims fought over the government and religious principals. Mu'awiya emphasized the latter, moved his capital to Damascus and began to reform the new empires administration. He based the way he organized the government on Byzantine empire. He also elected a christian council and chose his son Yazid as his successor.
