The Peace of Westphalia brought an end to the 30 Years' War. Its signing led to the emergence of France as Europe's most powerful country and Prussia emerging as a great power, the effective destruction of the Holy Roman Empire, the independence of Netherlands and Switzerland and the adding of Calvinism to the Peace of Augsburg. It had its biggest impact on the balance of power in Europe and created the European state system, which is why it fits with the SP theme.Añadido al timeline:
