The Declaration of Independence was writen by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston. This was written to show King George lll that they wanted independence. They inculded John Lock's teachings about the three natural rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
