This act helped keep the U.S. government safe. It was against communism.
This act restricted what communist could do. They all had to register for the government.
The act also gave the president the authority to arrest anyone who he believed commited a crime.
Later, the Senate didn’t approve the act. Soon McCarthy lost his influence.
