16th of Eleint - Party meets/forms at the Gilded Grotto Tavern in Neverwinter.

7 days after the Autumn Equinox, Year of the Scarlet Witch (Dalereckoning)

Dain "Old Bull" Blackrock & McKarr Underbaugh arrive at the Gilded Grotto, a dock district tavern in Neverwinter, having each been hired earlier to accompany a wagon load of provisions from Neverwinter to Phandalin. Old Bull was hired by his cousin Gundren Rockseeker to lead the expedition, and to hire an additional two able bodies for the journey.

McKarr admits with a dismissive smirk that he's only here because he owes Gundren a debt and he was traveling to Phandalin anyway. (The Rockseeker brothers caught McKarr attempting to rob their office. Instead of prosecuting him, they put him to work protecting their shipment).

Old Bull likes him right away

Old Bull soon notices Hannibal Webb, a (relatively) young high elf wizard who seemed to glow with otherworldly knowledge and potential, and Ephram Goodman, human fighter, a shining, youthful example of bright eyed naivete, and within minutes of watching each arrive, offers them work apparently on intuition alone.
