Animation played a big part in the advancement of film mostly thanks to Walt Disney with animations such as 'steamboat willie'. This was the start of the development of Disney which is to become one of the biggest movie selling franchises of all time with 2 theme parks and hundreds of films. This shows how much a few small black and white animations can really develop and advance the film industry.
