Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (JP) is a platformer game for the SNES released in 1995. It is a 2D platformer and is a sequel to Super Mario World. Despite being a sequel to Super Mario World, the game is actually a prequel, which takes place before the events in Super Mario Bros. and it features Mario, Luigi and Bowser as infants.

In 2006, a direct sequel to the game was released called Yoshi's Island DS for the Nintendo DS. There was also a midquel called Yoshi's New Island for the Nintendo 3DS released in 2014.
