30 sept 1938 año - Munich Agreement: Change & Perspective
Descripción:
Change: This agreement saw Germany changed, now that it had obtained a part of Czechoslovakia.
Perspective: Germany, Italy, France and Britain saw this as a feasible project, but Czechoslovakia and the USSR were not consulted, bringing a lack of perspective to the assignment of land to Germany. Also, the perspective of Britain is shown in Source E, which states that 'for Chamberlain, appeasement meant taking the initiative'.
“If you have sacrificed my nation to preserve the peace of the world, I will be the first to applaud you. But if not, gentlemen, God help your souls."
Czechoslovakian foreign minister Jan Masaryk to Lord Halifax as reaction to announcement of allies' betrayal in 1938.”
― Jan Masaryk
