The game immediately rose to the top of the charts, beating out competition such as PUBG. It immediately caught attention of a massive audience and celebrity endorsements helped it gain national attention. Music artist Drake was watched by millions playing on streaming website Twitch. He was joined by players from the NFL, such as Juju Smith-Schuster of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fortnite dances could be seen on TV after NFL players score touchdowns. The game was simply taking over pop culture.
