It gathered in 853 B.C., at Qarqar, to waylay the Assyrian army. The coalition consisted of troops from Babylon, Egypt, Persia, Israel, Aram and ten other nations. Assyria prevailed, possibly thanks to its larger and better cavalry. It forced most contenders into vassalage.
