24 abr 1951 año - THE INFLUENCE OF EAST ASIAN CINEMA

Descripción:

East-Asian Cinema has been engaging glibal audiences since the 1950's. The Japanese New Wave directors (1950's-1970's) began rejecting the rigid and austere stylings of directos such as Kenji Mizoguchi, who's films had a sense of purity and force.
Stories centred around delinquent youths, shattered societies and sexuality began emerging from the minds of expressive directors such as Nagisa Oshima and Shohei Imamura.
Many of these films were banned within the country as a result of the graphic and daring ways in which they told their stories, therefore they were often developed in France by Japanese directors.
Within years, the West began to study the influence and reality of these films.

Modern influences include the way that Branded to Kill (1967, dir. Seijun Suzuki) heavily influenced Quentin Tarantino's visual style.
