221 BCE - 206 BCE The Qin Dynasty was started by Shi Huangdi and was the first dynasty of imperial China. Shi Huangdi was the first emperor of this dynasty and of unified China by conquering the other Chinese states during the Warring States period. Many reforms throughout the empire occurred such as money and trade in an effort to centralize government. The Dynasty ended when the emperor died and successors could not establish rule, though Liu Bang finally managed to do so and started the Han Dynasty. (2.2)
