17 oct 1930 año - THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD

Descripción:

The 1930's were known as the 'Golden Age of Hollywood'. This is because of the further development of new technologies and new genres such as gangster, musicals, and screwball comedies.

However, due the the Great Depression in 1933, movie theatre attendance decreased as a consequence of the shortage of disposable money and income.

FILM FIRSTS IN THE 1930'S:
- The first prison drama was produced by MGM studios; The Big House (1930), dir. George Hill.

-The first daily newspaper for the film industry debuted in 1930 - The Hollywood Reporter.
