Philo T. Farnsworth was an American inventor who invented the electrical television. And on the 7th September 1927 he broadcast a single black line horizontal to the television creating the first ever television broadcast. Two years later he transmitted an image of his wife, Elma, making her the first woman of television.

The invention of the electronic television and this first broadcast marked a new era in entertainment as it now brought film into peoples homes and media would be created just to cater towards this medium.
