13 abr 1776 año - The American Revolution

Descripción:

Early liberal thinkers such as John Locke had heavy influence in the American Revolution, which was the people of America fighting back against Britain. The leaders of the Revolution promoted the ideas that Americans were separate from the British, and that if each man was created equal they should not have to be taxed by Britain but instead have their own land as Britain did. "No taxation without representation" was a slogan that began at the time which pointed out how the colonists were being taxed without their consent.

The revolution eventually led to the Declaration of Independence, adn teh first liberal-democractic government. The revolution and the declaration focussed heavily on individual rights and equalities, despite women and First Nations people not being able to vote until much later.
