The death of Abdul Malik, Umayyad caliph's son led to the separation of Maghrib into a separete wilaya. Even Qayrawan had became a capital and became known as wilaya of Ifriqiya. Ifriqiya included ripolitanis, Tunisia and eastern Algeria.Source:
