During 711 C.E., Tariq ibn Ziyad entered Iberia. Once, he was a convert Berber who embraced Islam. He was famous for this action he took without the consultation from his commander, Musa (an Arab). This action of his won him the title of Jabal Tariq (Tariq Mountain) or Gilbraltar which realistically existed as the name of the mountain. The expansion to Iberian Peninsula stop.
