Godden (1968) p. 159 cites a letter, dated December 27th, 1847 written to the china retailer Payne of Salisbury, that lists current ‘Art Manufactures’ wares and their prices. ‘The figure of Dorothea 28/- is the greatest favourite’ (p.160). The Dorothea figure is model No. 189 and is discussed on p. 98. Godden also mentions another letter citing Dorothea in short supply (Dec 28th 1847)
