17 ene 1777 año - Women Became Nurses for the Soldiers
Descripción:
Wives, daughters, and mothers of male soldiers often followed the army for food and protection as they couldn't care for themselves after the men left. These women were hired on to perform custodial work for the military and were called Camp Followers. Many camp followers later became nurses. There was one matron and ten nurses allocated for every hundred sick and wounded men.
