1 ene 1774 año - Coercive or Intolerable Acts

Descripción:

The Intolerable Acts were passed in response to the Boston Tea Party, which had caused a considerable amount of property damage and infuriated the British government. Any trust they had of the colonists had diminished considerably. The colonists responded with more boycotts and the assembly of the First Continental Congress. The colonists believed that the acts encroached on their rights as Englishmen and regarded the acts as unjustified. The acts also added merit to colonial radicals who had warned that the new taxes foreshadowed an attempt by the British to overthrow the representative government of the colonies and assert a tyrannical rule. The resistance continued to intensify.
