22 mar 1765 año - Stamp Act of 1765

Descripción:

The Stamp Act of 1765 was the one of the most momentous acts during the road to the Revolution. The Stamp Act imposed a tax on most printed documents in the colonies. Under the act, newspapers, almanacs, pamphlets, deeds, wills and licenses were all taxed. The Stamp Act of 1765 was part of Britain's new imperial program, which was effort to apply mercantilist principles to the colonies. It angered the colonists as it was the first tax set not to regulate commerce, but make money for the crown.
